    Itinerary of the Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech


    Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedars forest – Midelt – Ziz valley – Merzouga


    We’ll start the Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech with an early pick-up from your accommodation in Fes, then we’ll head to Imouzzer, then Ifrane, a city known for its cold weather and beautiful houses that look like those in Switzerland.

    Next, we’ll visit a cedar forest where you can feed friendly monkeys and explore the forest. After that, we’ll have lunch in Midelt and continue our journey, passing through Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the Ziz Valley. Along the way, we’ll take breaks to enjoy the views.

    We’ll dedicate the afternoon to exploring Merzouga, an amazing desert where you can ride a camel and explore the sand dunes. Finally, we’ll arrive at the camp, which has both traditional nomadic tents and comfortable places to stay.

    In the evening, we’ll have a delightful time at the camp, dancing around the bonfire and listening to Berber drum beats., and gazing at the stars in the night sky. After a day full of adventures, we’ll enjoy a tasty dinner and spend a peaceful sleep at the desert camp. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience!


    Day 2: Merzouga – Nomad families – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – Palm Grove


    Before breakfast, we’ll witness the stunning sunrise over the desert. Then, hit the road back to Merzouga on camelback.

    you’ll have so much doing many outdoor activities and see many remarkable features like dunes, natural lakes, mines, fossil sites, and a beautiful oasis. It’s perfect for various outdoor activities.

    Our Merzouga excursion starts with an off-road journey to an ancient eyeliner mine. Later, we’ll visit the nomads in their traditional handmade tents. You can enjoy a cup of Berber tea while learning about their way of life! Our next stop is the Khamlia village, where you’ll witness Gnaoua music and dance performances.

    After lunch, we’ll take a stroll in the palm tree forest. Later, we’ll drive a short distance to explore Merzouga’s wild lake, often called Flamingo Lake. We’ll have supper and spend the night in a comfortable hotel. It’s going to be a delightful and adventurous day!


    Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todgha gorges – Dades valley


    On the third day of the Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech, after breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the desert and head to explore Rissani town. It used to be the historical capital of Tafilalet and remains an important trade center in the region. You’ll find a lively market there on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

    We’ll take a tour around Rissani Souk before continuing our journey to Erfoud. In Erfoud, you’ll get to see one of the workshops where they craft beautiful items from fossilized marble. To reach the Todra Gorges, we’ll pass through the scenic palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. These gorges are a large canyon with red cliff sides formed by the flow of the Todra River. They are a favorite spot for rock climbers.

    After having lunch, we’ll head to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we’ll make stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation, which provides a stunning view of the Dades Valley. Your dinner and overnight stay will be in a comfortable hotel. It’s going to be a wonderful day full of exploration and beautiful sights!


    Day 4: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech


    It’s the last day of our Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech. After breakfast, we’ll keep moving to Kalaa Magouna to see the Rose Valley. In May, there’s a special Rose Festival where locals sell various rose products like perfumes, rose water, and cosmetics. Next, we’ll pass through Skoura’s beautiful palm orchards. Finally, we’ll reach the Desert Gate, also known as Ouarzazate, where famous movies were made in its studios.

    Our next destination is Ait Benhaddou’s famous Kasbah, a fortified settlement recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This Kasbah has also been featured in several movies and TV shows. To reach Marrakech, we’ll drive over the stunning High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass.
